Service Limits

To keep ClipSync fast, reliable, and fair for everyone, a few limits apply to each room.
These limits help prevent abuse and ensure consistent performance for all users.

ClipSync is designed for temporary sharing, not long-term storage or large file transfers.

Room Limits

What Happens When Limits Are Exceeded?

ClipSync automatically manages storage to keep rooms usable:

• Item limit (30):
  When you add a new item and the room already has 30 items, the oldest item is removed automatically.

• File limit (5):
  When you upload a new file and the room already has 5 files, the oldest file is removed.

• File size (25 MB):
  Files larger than 25 MB are rejected with an error message.

• Text length (30,000 characters):
  Messages longer than 30,000 characters cannot be sent.

• Item retention (24 hours):
  All items are automatically deleted after 24 hours, even if limits are not reached.

You’ll see hints in the UI when limits are about to be reached or when items are removed.

Tips for Staying Within Limits

• Compress images before uploading
• Share large files through other services if they exceed 25 MB
• Split very long text into multiple messages
